All 49-51 Ford owners are called to bring your shoebox to the Stray Kat 500 in Dewey, OK the first weekend of May. We'll have reserved parking for as many as we can fit in a row right where the cars roll into the show. You can pre-register for the show by going to straykatkustoms.com and downloading a reg form, fill it out & mail it with your fee in.

If you've never been before, let me tell you a bit about the Stray Kat 500. The weekend starts off around noon on Friday May 3rd with a Reliability Run. Usually it's a fairly short run to some sort of local attraction, just an excuse to get in a line of 30 or so hot rods & kustoms headed out together in a caravan for a bit of adventure. Friday afternoon we all head over to TwoTall Okie's shop (700-798 N Delaware St, Dewey, OK 74029) for a free feed. Later that evening it's back to the hotels and the real fun begins.
The Stray Kat 500 is as much social gathering as it is car show, maybe more so. The evening hang outs at the host hotel are some of the best of any show that you'll go to. It's like a block party on the koolest block on the planet, with kustom and hot rod building experience ranging over many decades. Combined there has to be in the 1000's of years experience. There is no shortage of stories to be told, you will definitely learn something.
Saturday morning starts early as the cars roll back up Highway 75 to Dewey (about 3 miles). Over 500 kustoms and hotrods (64 and older) gather. Cars can be from as near as a block from the show to many states and a time zone or two away. There are some great vendors, some of the best pinstripers anywhere, tons of cars, great people and bands!

Later in the evening everyone rolls out to find some dinner, Bartlesville (where the hotels are) is just a couple of miles to the south and has a bunch of great eating opportunities. After everyone has their dinner they gather again at the hotel. I can't describe accurately how much fun I have at the hotel hangouts.
Sunday we gather again, some wave as they drive by the show site on their way home, others hang out for a few more hours. If you want to join in there is a church service, if not, no big deal. Everyone in attendence gets to be part of the Blessing of The Rides, just a lil help from above to help all of our cars get us home safely.
That's about it, as best as I can describe it. Make plans to be there. The weekend is May 3-5, 2013, come if you have a shoebox or not but if you do, bring it.
