In this installment of my Easter weekend spectacular we've moved on to Sunday. My uncle Paul (povertyflats) has a fun car and a couple of motorized bicycles and after dinner it was time for the real fun to begin.
As you can see, the front end comes up so fast that the back tires have come off the ground too...
There, that's better!
Woah Nelly!
Spinning donuts time!
You can see by the front wheels that the brain doesn't always grasp that you cannot turn with the front tires in the air...
Here's Paul riding one of his very cool motorized bikes
Well...do ya?
Here's the man himself with the wildest car in town!

Easter Weekend fun in Kansas Part 2
In the 1st part of this story I told you about Jeff Myers' shop Premier Body & Paint in Arkansas City, KS (620-441-0820)
In addition to the 41 Ford that's undergoing some way kool work, there's a VW Bug that's being built for Jeff's son, and McPhail's 58 Apache truck that was referenced in the first post. Here's some shots of the Apache.
Outside we assembled some of the koolest cars around, they all just happened to belong to Jeff :) We needed to bring two of them back from the house so Mick (Straykatkustoms on the H.A.M.B.) drove Jeff's way kool 57 Caddy. Now this car is one of the koolest kustoms ever so you can imagine Mick's excitement/nervousness over the prospect of driving such a piece of art. God was smiling on him as he pulled the Cad into the Premier lot in one piece.
I'm not sure that Mick wanted to get out of the car though. Right about here I think the conversation was something like, "I can't believe you let me drive your car!"
So now we have the 57 Caddy, 63 Galaxie, Stude Truck, Hot Rod and the 41 frame all set out front for some shots.
I think this picture is telling you to Stop at Premier Body & Paint (yes I'm a corny bastard I know).
Owning a 63 Galaxie myself I have a soft spot for them, but Jeff's is just spot on fantastic.
Part 3 tomorrow
See you at a show,
Travis

Easter Weekend fun in Kansas Part 1
One of the koolest things about heading down this hot rod/kustom kar photography road has been the people that I've met and become friends with. Saturday I got to hang with 3 of these great guys AND I got to drive my 63 Galaxie a couple hundred miles, it was a truly great day!
I headed out late morning for Arkansas City, KS to visit Jeff Myers at Premier Body & Paint, one of the 3 and one of the best kustomizers around. I've stopped by Jeff's before, the first time on the way to Dewey, OK for the annual Stray Kat Kookout when I got to see a wonderful Shoebox chop that Jeff and Ian Berky had been working on. Here's a link to the photos from that trip. And here is a link to the thread on the H.A.M.B. detailing the chop and work on the car. Then in February of this year Jeff was gracious enough to let me stop by again and check out the progress on McPhail's killer Chevy Apache. Here's the link to what I took that day and here is a thread on the H.A.M.B. about the truck build.
A slight detour takes me over to McPherson to pick up some parts for a Stray Kat parts relay. Parts in hand I point the ol Galaxie south on the interstate to test out her new mpg with the AOD at highway speed. The next 2 hours were nice and almost smooth (still fighting a vibration issue in the car).
Upon arriving at Jeff's Premier Body & Paint (620-441-0820) I see Jeff's killer Stude Truck and Hot Rod sitting out front, here's a shot of them with my Galaxie in front. I completely spaced off taking pics of Mick's Merc that he and Krobe rolled up from Dewey in. Sorry Mick!
Here's the Galaxie looking kinda homely around all of the kool kustom that happens at Premier.
Here's a shot of Mick's new tunes in his Merc.
Inside Jeff's working on a few projects (always seems to be the case) including Roy's 41 Ford
The new frame is looking good, so we rolled it outside for some photos.
That's it for part 1, I'll post up part 2 soon though.
See ya at at a show.
