KKOA Leadsled Spectacular is on the way! Looking back Part 4

So we've looked at the KKOA Leadsled Spectacular coverage from Salina, KS from 2006-2009 in Parts 1, 2, & 3. Now we continue on with 2010. The show is called the Leadsled Spectacular but more than just Leadsleds are welcome. Quite a few people come just to take part in the Friday night Run What Ya Brung Drags. We'll get to that in just a bit.

There are all kinds of customized rides at the Leadsled Spectacular, check out the former school bus from Margaritaville High.

This clean Ford is the perfect example of what someone with enough time and energy could build in their own home shop. Just a clean kool pickup that was put together very very well.

Great pinstriping on the Ford.

Pink is not my color but it does fit this custom shoebox.

I think the thing that appeals to me about the traditional rods & kustoms are that they are usually very clean. Without a bunch of mods just for the sake of doing them.

Hatfield Restorations did a fantastic job bringing Gene Winfield's old shop truck back to life in all of it's former glory.

The big Caddy with the fastback roof just oozes style.

Champagne tastes, beer budget...

This coupe is very cool all by itself, but when you see it roll into town on a 2 wheel trailer behind a kustom candy apple green 54 Chevy, a crowd gathers.

Seeing trick kustom cars is a good thing, meeting the owners and finding out that they almost all are owned by great people is a treat. Jake is no exception, this guy is diehard and passionate about having a good time in this car.

This bad buick has a bunch of subtle touches, love the Chevrolet headlight eyebrows.

My friends from the Des Moines area, Oliver Built Group!

Survivor hot rod from the early 60's I believe. I first saw this ride at the first Vintage Torque Fest. Another great car with even better owners.

Where do you start with Dale's beautiful kustom? Driven, not trailered, and just perfect from any angle.

The Whale! More great people that own a kool car.

Johnny Hammann's 58 again, just love this car.

Another 58 Chevy kustom

Driven from North Carolina, that's dedication.

Just a cool shot of an OT car.

Louise Knoll and her husband Harry are more great people that I'm glad to have met on this adventure.

Here's a shot of Low Lid's AirFlow/Fastback...how does one describe it besides kustom?

The next installment with get into the aforementioned Drags!

See you at a show.
